Shutter at the Thought

The Purple Rose of Cairo is a fun, little flick. Always enjoy films about films... or watching film. Warm and touching as well as funny.

Best thing about Shutter is that most of it was filmed on location in Japan (primarily Tokyo). Otherwise, this J-horror influenced remake of a Thai horror film (that's a new one) is a bore. Haven't seen the Thai film but heard it's decent. This one, however, is not; the payoff is unfulfilling after the build-up and Joshua Jackson's character doesn't fit the mold to live up to the resolution. OK, I've already spent more words than it's worth.
