watchin' the academy awards while i pack and prepare for the trip to NYC... and i feel bad for all the great movies this year in the year of the Ring. b/c i'm sure many of these great flicks would probably take home a technical award or two if not for the juggernaut of RotK in the way... and it appears to be cleaning up winning every category it's in so far. crazy but well deserved...

so i watched "thirteen" w/a friend last night who was also my friend when we were 13. the flick brought back a lot of memories and reminded us of many of the stupid things we did at that age. fortunately things weren't quite as over the top as portrayed in the flick nor as depressing... anyhoos, recommended viewing that one.

i must resume packing for NYC... and i'm feeling indifferent at the moment about going. that should change once i'm there and get into it. ah well... i leave you with Gimme Gimme Octopus tonight. enjoy!

finally saw a doctor today about my wrecked neck. it was pretty obvious what the problem was to him so he prescribed some muscle relaxers and pain killers. if the situation doesn't improve by monday i go back for referrals to specialists. at this point i just want it to go away. it's really hard to do anything in this state. took one of each this afternoon and i'm ready to float home.

sour grapes, sweet lemons, or smashed pumpkins? in the end does it really matter? billy, just get the band back together already, dammit.

when i grow up and takeover micro$oft, i want a house like Bill Gates'...

does my insurance cover chiropractors? need to find out. my neck is still a serious wreck. my chiropractor brother-in-law gave me the lowdown last night on what the deal is. and it's a drag. btw, jabber took me out to lunch sunday on his way to belgium to visit his internet girlfriend. he also took my dig.camera. i look fwd to his return visit next wednesday.

i think i watched 5 episodes of 5 diff. anime last night.

my >mazinkaiser torrent is so close to being done d/l but i so want to go home. long day of work... and strangely enough, i haven't stepped outside the office once today. i must be dehydrated. had the delightful staff meeting this morning which was painful not b/c we were all crammed into the conf. room -- but b/c i'm fullblown sick and i was trying to avoid coughing in there due to the packed room. i dunno what happened but i have mighty cold going. on top of my sore neck. i'm pretty sure that i damaged something in my neck and therefore it will not heal. it's a spike of sharp pain runnin' down the right side towards the back. agh. i just wanna sleep.

my friday link to use at home otherwise i won't get any work done at the office: Gaming Media Perspective. friday link #2 to use at home for the same reason: Dark Tower (thanks to raydeen for that one!). ok, back to working to kill time until my torrent's done. blech. it's friday fer christsakes.

news stories like this make me smile: Blockbuster Faces Changing Media Market. Batman movie news does not (just updated that link w/a more thorough story on Qui-Gon Jinn's addition to the newest batflick).

we got new cellphones today w/new service from t-mobile. i hate my new phone. all the nuances that made my previous phone great are lacking in this one. it's just annoying. along w/my neck which is still unbelievably sore. i don't get it.

if you asked me what i was doing at 3AM this morning and i told you i was playing starcraft, would you be surprised? i tried to bag at 11:30PM but i couldn't get my heart rate to slow down so i got back up at midnight and watched an episode each of Chrno Crusade, Shinkon Gattai Godannar, and Shingetsutan Tsukihime (in that order). it was only around 1:30 so i fired up SC to finish off the last mission. my neck was still sore so sleepin' wasn't all that easy anyways.

it's about goddamn time. and thanks, george, for holding off and making us wait even longer so you can capitalize on the xmas season.

better is the release of the original kikaida series on NTSC DVD. akemi, which is better: kamen rider or kikaida?

ok, my neck hurts so bad right now i can barely think... it's almost as if every pill i take only makes it worse. it's like i cannot focus on any one thing for more than 30 seconds or less. right i'm just holding on long enough to make it to the end...
getting real tired of still receiving the mydoom virus at a clip of 1 every 5 minutes. the incompetence and ignorance here baffles me. somehow i wrecked my neck friday; it's remained sore and incredibly bothersome every since... doesn't help in the sleep dept. painkillers are worthless at this point.

saturday i bought a much needed office/desk/computer chair for a 100 bones. could've saved $60 if i took the decent one on sale but i wanted the high executor back. it's slick and does away with a few old worn chairs now headed to the trash; incl. the cadillac (finally). cont'd hunting for a scanner sunday but no luck. just nothing exciting in that area. however, i picked up FF9 for $15. i am so thoroughly disgusted at SC that want to punch the screen so i need to get away from the PC gaming for a bit. and FF9 (PS1) is the right call. also stopped by whole foods to take home a sack of fruit, juice and a gallon of organic milk for $45 (about what i spend on fruit over 6mos @joe caputo's). and wf had organic pink ladies!

fansubbed anime currently watching incl. avenger, peacemaker kurogane, gear fighter dendoh
feudal japan/china/korea epics watched over the weekend incl. Gojoe, Musa the Warrior
new dvd additions incl. Rocky & Bullwinkle Season One 4-disc set
flicks on order incl. battle royale 2

since when did monday become must-see tv night? christ, i'm not ready for it; i'm tired and need a nap. amazed how much time one of my co-workers blatantly spends on personal calls during the day. this is close to yormark proportions.

This Tenchi Muyo 10th Anniversary DVD Box Set is disgusting. it amazes me the packaged sets they will produce in japan for outrageous money.

speaking of japanese packages, micro$oft will do almost anything to crack that market w/their xbox... read "getting in bed with the customer" and be sure to click the dakimakura google images search! heh. ok, that's just wrong...

i'm so glad it's friday. neo tonight? i don't think so. i have 1 SC mission to finish off the game for good... it's calling my name.

AskJohn has a good one here: Which Anime Have Had the Most Influence on Current Anime? it's not so much a "influences" article; rather it's just a rundown on essential anime viewing... or japanimation, as akemi calls it. lots of good stuff here, most of which i know you've all seen... collectively that is. most of this i can recommend from actually viewing... 'cept the shoujo stuff (which is loved by many).

the weekend was a blur... mostly b/c i pissed all of it away either sleeping, gaming, or watching the superbowl festivities. had today off and it was nice. it was nice to get up at 9, have b-fast then take a nap until noon. left to pick up some micros on sale for $2.24 @suncoast (lincolnwood mall today) and returned to take another nap. d/l a hella lotta torrents over the last 3 days. caught up w/akemi tonight and back to work tomorrow. fun.
