Le passage et pathos

Another terrific Bogart film Passage to Marseille has a central arc that makes this an excellent watch. Bookends aren't bad but it's really the Bogey material and Peter Lorre/Claude Rains stuff to a lesser extent that make this essential viewing.

I think I've reached my breaking point w/these disturbing and fucked up Japanese psycho-sexual horror thrillers. case in point: Strange Circus. Not that this is a bad film but sometimes I wonder what's the point. I can only take so much of father raping the daughter/scarification psychological mumbo jumbo.
