For many years I always referred to this film as one of the best episodes of The Twilight Zone until someone said, "uh, are you referring to The Day the Earth Stood Still?" Yeah, I suppose I was. After this viewing I would consider this possibly one of my top 100 favorite films.

Klaatu Barada Nikto!
In a mad scramble to pack before leaving at 4:15AM to catch my flight to San Jose, I've decided to watch the original The Day the Earth Stood Still (1951), which I've not seen since I was a child. Long overdue, yes, I know. Full reveal: when I was a child I thought this was an extended Twilight Zone episode. For many years I always referred to this film as one of the best episodes of The Twilight Zone until someone said, "uh, are you referring to The Day the Earth Stood Still?" Yeah, I suppose I was.
