After which, TCM screened The Hidden Fortress (1958), which has always been one of my favorites (not just of Kurosawa). So much comedy & action in this well-paced "road film" that I could easily watch all two & a half hours again.

Kurosawa x TCM
March being Akira Kurosawa month (in celebration of what would be his 100th birthday), tributes abound. TCM is celebrating this event by featuring Kurosawa film selections every Tuesday, and on this evening I was lured in by AK's take on Macbeth in Throne of Blood (1957), which I had not seen in its entirety.
After which, TCM screened The Hidden Fortress (1958), which has always been one of my favorites (not just of Kurosawa). So much comedy & action in this well-paced "road film" that I could easily watch all two & a half hours again.
