Queued up John Sturges' 1955 Bad Day at Black Rock for some early morning viewing. Spencer Tracy arrives in a small desert town and begins rattling everyone with his mere presence. Pretty damn good flick. Didn't even recognize Lee Marvin (maybe the youngest I've seen him in film). Robert Ryan also very good but Tracy is the real badass here. Great watch.
Watching The Siege in post-9/11 provides more poignancy than when it was originally released in 1998. The idea of terrorist cells threatening New York City is hella more powerful knowing that it actually has happened. Denzel is in fine form while Bruce Willis provides his best Bruce Willis. I do think this is a better watch now and worth a look.
