May Movie Tally

Here's the round-up for my May tallying...

Watched 68 films of which 56 were new and 12 were re-watches. Not too bad considering I saw only 1 film during my 5-day trip out west. That total, surprisingly, beats last May's total of 62 (my friends favorites month!).

They break down like this:
1 film each from twenties & thirties
3 films from the forties
4 films from the fifties
6 films from the sixties
5 films from the seventies
11 films from the eighties
5 films from the nineties
32 films from the 2000s (23 titles between '08, '09, & '10)

Always trying to keep up with current releases puts most of the weight on the '00s. But the '80s strongest after that seems right.

No surprises there, eh? Of course some titles cross more than one genre (Sci-Fi Horror, Western Action, etc) but I'm going by the primary genre first. For example, The Good, the Bad, the Weird is certainly an Action Film but its Western setting places it in Western first. Feel free to disagree. =)

8 films were Japan productions
4 films were UK productions
(8 from other countries)

Again, no surprises. Sadly I'm still not back to watching as many foreign films I used to before I started tallying (pre-2009) but I'm working on it.

So as of May 31 I'm up to 323 on the year. Haven't matched that number to last year at the same time because I still have to create lists for the months post-April. Thinking I'm probably right around the same number or a little less.
